Seeing as everyone else is making predictions on Game of Thrones, I don't see why I shouldn't jump on the bandwagon. I watch Game of Thrones only via Youtube snippets posted by various fans, since I don't have a television. I then watch the whole thing on DVD a year later in one go. So my predictions aren't polluted by facts and details, like those of so many other GoT's fans.
Jon Snow will die
Jon Snow will die in the last few episodes fighting - and winning - for the good cause. Remember, he was dead already. He was resurrected to finish whatever job he was born to do, and when that is finished he will die again. That's what always happens; Gandalf, Jesus, whatever. You just don't get resurrected and live happily ever after. It's not like he will mind - he appears extremely reluctant to do any sort of living, is tired of fighting, and had emotionally checked out of Westeros after his ladylove died. Anyway, I bet he is sterile now, so forget about him starting a new incestuous dynasty with Deanerys. The White Walkers will be redeemed
The White Walkers will make peace with the rest of Westeros. Samwell Tarly will find something in that library that will enable him (?) to undo the curse that turned the White Walkers into ice zombies, and they will re-join humanity.Westeros will become a parliamentary democracy
And who will sit on the Iron Throne? Remember what Deanerys said. Firstly, she will Break the Wheel - no more merry-go-round dynasty politics. Secondly, she will bear no children aside from her dragons. Therefore and thusly, the Iron Throne will be destroyed and Westeros will become a parliamentary democracy. Deanerys may offer to be a sort of queen like figure, just to help out until democracy becomes fully embedded, like Juan Carlos did in Spain. But with no children she can't start a dynasty. And if she did start a dynasty, how would that stop the wheel? A democracy is the only solution.George R Martin will save our world
Given the character of George R Martin, and the current state of the world (ours, that is), there is simply no other possible ending. We must have peace, and we must learn to get on together, and stop all this ridiculous divisiveness and random hatred and pointless killing. Given the huge popularity of the series, which has left him with a massive influence over the hearts and minds of people all over the world, Mr Martin will do his bit for world peace. And no, I don't have a Game of Thrones scarf. Hermes, you know what to do!
