OK, we did it! Paris in one day. We walked a lot, ate a lot, took loads of pictures, and covered an awful lot of ground. Our ramblings included, inter alia, the Louvre, the Tuileries gardens, the Opera, Notre Dame, the Embankment, Place de la Concorde and surrounds, the Flower Market, Rue Honore de Faubourg, Shakespeare & Company, and any number of bridges and little side streets. And yes, we did go to the little cafe just behind Notre Dame and had ice cream! It was great fun to show Paris to H, who had never been, and M, who hadn't been since the 1970s, but boy was I tired when we finally got home!
