Happy Easter 2025!!!

I haven't done much to blog about, but after some encouragement I am starting up again.

After all, there is stuff going on I can comment on, even if I do repeat myself.

I am getting rather irritated by the constant updates and changes in the internet world - my books never make such demands on me, and seem a lot easier to use.  Less up-to-date of course, but so much less bother.  And no adds!!!  I hope there will continue to be none on my blog, I have fiddled with the set up a bit.  Seems extortionate to charge people for reading my musings, and anyway, everyone should have a day job.

By way of an update, I am still a scarfy, am still trying to entice frogs to lay their eggs in my various ponds, and continue to experiment with various solutions to navigate the cussedness of daily life. The Bookclub is still going strong, and I have almost used up all my Brexit supplies.

Now I am off to cook Cassoulet.  I am the proud owner of a cast iron Le Creuset Cassoulet pot, which I imported at vast expense from America, and thus feel obliged to use regularly to make it pay for itself.  I alternate Cassoulet with Boston Baked Beans.  Both get frozen in small portions and served at breakfast, because my stomach can't handle too many beans in one sitting.  The pot was made exclusively for Williams-Sonoma about 15 years ago, and very tricky to find outside of the USA.  A damaged version of my pot is currently advertised for sale on an internet platform for £700 - and I complained about the £100 plus £50 shipping I paid for a brand new one in 2015!  Real Cassoulet pots are made of earthenware, but I prefer cast iron.

Enjoy your Easter Monday!

PS  The photo was made some time ago, but my Easter breakfast table looked almost exactly the same.
